How to add and use clickTAG for Flash banner and Flash Slideshow?

This tutorial will guide you how to add and use clickTAG for Flash banner and Flash Slideshow.

Normally the clickTAG is the tracking code assigned by the ad serving network to an individual Flash AD banner or Flash Slideshow.

On clicking, the Flash banner or Flash slideshow should redirect to the URL specified in the clickTAG argument.

To support and use clickTAG, basically there are two steps:

Create Flash banner or Flash slideshow which supports clickTAG

To support clickTAG, in Flash Banner Wizard, click "Web Link" on the left navigation bar, then in the "Web Link" dialog, check the option "Open webpage when clicking on Flash banner", then choose the option "clickTAG Argument".

To support clickTAG, in Flash Slideshow Wizard, click "Web Link" on the left navigation bar, then in the "Web Link" dialog, check the option "Open webpage when clicking on Flash banner", then choose the option "clickTAG Argument".

Edit HTML source code and support clickTAG

This step can also be done automatically by an ad serving system.

To support clickTAG, you need to add the destination URL address as clickTAG parameter to the Flash file name, like following red code.

<embed src="flashbanner.swf?clickTAG=http://www.destinationURL.com" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" quality="high" allowscriptaccess="always" wmode="transparent" align="middle" width="560" height="180"></embed>

In this way, when users click on the Flash banner, it will redirect to the specified http://www.destinationURL.com.

Below is a clickTAG example, when you click on the Flash banner, you will be redirected to http://www.google.com.
